Emma decided in the morning that she wanted to her favorite sushi for dinner which is avocado maki. So we decided to do take out from ICHI Sushi which opened fall 2010 in our neighborhood. I called and ordered takeout: spicy scallop roll, vegetable futomaki, avocado maki (of course!), chicken wings, spider roll, and salmon avocado roll. The latter two were replacements for unagi avocado roll (it’s endangered so they don’t offer it anymore) and kasu hamchi kama (wasn’t clear here but they were either out  or didn’t offer it that day (more likely)).

The woman told me it would take about 20-25 minutes. It was nice out and parking can be a nightmare so decided to walk to the place which is about a 10 minute walk (if that) from our place.

I stepped inside and the place was completely empty since it had probably only been open about 1/2hr. I was definitely on the early side. The woman was just putting the finishing touches on my order. She told me that other than the top container which contained the wings all the other containers were made of corn and were compostable. Nice.

We  found the sushi prices pretty reasonable when we ordered. When we saw the rolls we thought they were kind of small but if you consider the price it was about right. The quality is also much better than other places that may be cheaper and give you honking huge rolls.

Vegetable futomaki and avocado maki.

Salmon avocado roll and spider roll.

Spicy scallop roll was good but wasn’t spicy at all. Actually looking at the picture the scallops look to be without spice. Did they forget it?

Kabosu chicken wings were meaty, tender and tasted great but at $9.50 the price seems a bit steep.

Overall we enjoyed our meal and probably will try it again but maybe dine in next time. If I do I’ll have a more extensive review of the restaurant.
